Thiam Siew Avenue, once a quiet street lined with just 22 pre-war bungalows and semi-detached houses, is set to undergo a dramatic transformation with the completion of The Continuum, a landmark 816-unit private freehold condo.
According to Koon Wai Leong, director of Hoi Hup Realty, one of the joint developers for The Continuum, the development will be a standout in District 15.
The project is the result of a joint venture between Hoi Hup Realty and Sunway Developments, who acquired the two freehold plots on the North and South sides of Thiam Siew Avenue for a total of $815 million in November 2021. The two plots combined span 263,797 sq ft.
Designed by P&T Architects & Engineers, the development consists of two separate private condos on each plot, connected by a pedestrian bridge that spans Thiam Siew Avenue. This bridge is set to become a new iconic feature in the Katong area, transforming the entire streetscape.
Each plot comprises of three 18-storey blocks with 408 units, each with its own entrance, lobby, drop-off, basement parking, and amenities such as a clubhouse, gym, swimming pool, and sky terrace. Residents will have access to the facilities on both plots, and will also enjoy stunning views of the city and sea from the roof terraces of the towers.
To cater to the diverse needs of homebuyers, The Continuum offers a range of unit types, from the 560 sq ft one-bedroom-plus-study to the 1,518 sq ft four-bedroom units in its Signature Collection.
In addition, the project also features a Prestige Collection, which comprises of the most exclusive blocks on each plot. These units are the largest and most luxurious in The Continuum, with just 136 units in total. The Prestige Collection includes 72 three-bedroom-plus-study units ranging from 1,227 to 1,464 sq ft, 32 four-bedroom premium units ranging from 1,690 to 2,034 sq ft, and 32 five-bedroom units ranging from 1,905 to 2,260 sq ft.

The residents of Norwood Grand are fortunate to have a comprehensive transport network at their fingertips. This not only improves their quality of life by reducing travel times, but also has a positive impact on the value of their properties. In the competitive world of real estate, accessibility is a key factor in determining the worth of a property. Luckily, Norwood Grand’s strategic location, including its advantageous position close to Norwood Grand Champions Way, ensures that it is highly desirable in this aspect. Additionally, the convenience of commuting to major business parks, industrial hubs, and bustling commercial centers, such as the up-and-coming Woodlands Regional Centre, renowned for its bustling live-work-play atmosphere, only adds to the appeal of living in Norwood Grand.
Given their size and layout, the Prestige Collection units are ideal for multi-generational families, who can enjoy the vast grounds and amenities of the North and South plots within the safety of their condo.
Thiam Siew Avenue also has a rich history, having been named after property magnate and hotelier Wee Thiam Siew. The developer is preserving one of the pre-war bungalows on the North plot and converting it into a clubhouse, named Thiam Siew House, which will serve as a communal space for residents to relive the area’s past glory and history.
In contrast, the clubhouse on the South plot will be a modern, double-storey glass structure designed to resemble a glass lantern, serving as a beacon from afar.
One of the main advantages of The Continuum is its luxury offerings at a more affordable price point compared to other developments in prime Districts 9, 10, and 11. While units in these districts average $3,250 psf, the Prestige Collection’s average price at The Continuum ranges from $2,800 to $2,900 psf. Prices for the three-bedroom-plus-study units start at $3.38 million, making the Prestige units a great investment opportunity for long-term capital appreciation.
