Hyatt And Singhaiyi Open Hyatt Regency Villa Resort Maldives
Singapore-based property developer SingHaiyi has recently announced its partnership with global hospitality giant Hyatt Hotels Corp to open the Hyatt Regency Samarafushi Maldives, an all-villa resort.
During the signing ceremony held on September 26, Gallant Tang, executive director of SingHaiyi, expressed his confidence in choosing Hyatt as their partner, stating that the company’s strong reputation and expertise in the hospitality industry make them the perfect choice for this joint venture. He also mentioned his excitement for the new resort, which will showcase the qualities that have made the Hyatt Regency brand so popular among guests.
In agreement, Andrew Mensforth, Senior VP Operations Asia Pacific of Hyatt, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration and their shared vision of creating a truly exceptional resort in the Maldives.

Mohamed Luveiz, the High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to Singapore, also expressed his appreciation for the addition of this new resort, emphasizing that it will contribute greatly to the country’s growing portfolio of properties. He also highlighted the rapid development of Maldives’ infrastructure, including the expansion of the Valena International Airport and the upcoming domestic airport infrastructure, which will enhance connectivity throughout the country and provide more opportunities for travelers.
Set to open in 2027, the Hyatt Regency Samarafushi Maldives will be a 130-villa resort spread over 10 hectares of land. The villas will offer a variety of accommodation options, including beachfront, treetop, and overwater villas, each with its own private pool. The resort will be located just 25 minutes away from Valena International Airport via a speedboat ride.
This new resort will be Hyatt Regency’s flagship property in the Maldives and the third Hyatt property in the island state. With the addition of Hyatt Regency Samarafushi, the Hyatt Regency brand will now have 80 properties across the Asia Pacific region, including popular destinations such as Bali, Phuket, and Sydney.
For SingHaiyi, the Hyatt Regency Samarafushi will be their second property in the Maldives, following the success of their first venture, the Grand Park Kodhipparu Maldives, which also features 120 luxurious villas. With this new partnership, SingHaiyi continues to expand its global presence and strengthen its reputation as a leading property developer.
