During his speech, Minister Faishal emphasized the crucial role agents play in helping clients navigate the increasingly complex real estate market while also looking out for their best interests. He also urged agents to speak out against any unscrupulous practices within the industry, such as misleading advertisements or online commentaries that contain falsehoods. Minister Faishal stressed that such actions not only harm the market but also tarnish the reputation of the real estate sector as a whole.
Adam Wang, president of SEAA, noted in his speech the significant increase in agencies participating in this year’s awards, with over 600 qualified applicants. He believes this is a testament to the credibility and professionalism these accolades bring to the real estate industry. Wang also highlighted the importance of maintaining high ethical standards in order to build consumer trust and elevate the overall standards of agents.
SEAA has taken steps to support and equip real estate agents in Singapore, such as through the recent memorandum of understanding on the best practices guide for co-broking commissions. This guide emphasizes the importance of collecting commissions from the party being represented and agreeing to commission-free arrangements prior to any dealings with clients. The association also continuously updates its Continuing Professional Development courses to meet market needs and provide agents with the latest technology tools and knowledge. Wang emphasized SEAA’s commitment to helping its members stay at the forefront of the industry and succeed in any market conditions.
