The TANGS department store, located on Orchard Road in Tang Plaza, will be undergoing a renovation of its basement after Chinese New Year celebrations next year, as reported by EDGEPROP. The project is expected to be completed by August 2025.
The revamped basement will house 41 shop-in-shop units, featuring a mix of local, regional, and international F&B brands, as well as a dedicated wellness zone. Covering a floor area of 33,000 sq ft, these units will have varying sizes, ranging from 150 to 5,200 sq ft. Additionally, a family room will be included in the renovation, providing a private feeding area and a baby-changing station.

This renovation marks the first change to the basement level of TANGS in the past 12 years and is part of a larger plan to enhance the overall customer experience. It follows the successful revamp of TANGS at Vivocity in 2022.
According to reports, the prime retail space in Orchard area has seen a strong take-up in the first quarter of 2024, with rents in the central region increasing by 0.2% quarter-on-quarter. Despite the ongoing renovation, the first to fourth floors at Tang Plaza will remain open for business.
