Violet Oon Wins Tender Dempsey Road Building Top Bid 52615 Month

Singapore Land Authority (SLA) has chosen Violet Oon, the well-known chef, restaurateur and food writer, to take on the lease for a single-storey conserved building at 7 Dempsey Road. Violet Oon’s subsidiary, Halo Concept, submitted a monthly rental bid of $52,615, the highest of eight bids received.

The building is located in the popular Dempsey Hill lifestyle cluster and is surrounded by upscale restaurants, cafes, retail and services. It has a land area of approximately 6,723 sq ft and an estimated gross floor area of 6,190 sq ft. The tender for the building was launched on January 24, with a focus on both concept and price. The lease period is set at 5+4 years.

Halo Concept has revealed that the new Violet Oon restaurant at 7 Dempsey Road will offer customers an indoor and outdoor dining experience, complete with a mobile cooking studio. The bids received for the site ranged from $20,000 to $33,295 per month. The second highest bid of $33,295 per month was submitted by two parties, Culinary Arts and Urban Group, Singapore-based restaurant groups. Urban Group also operates the restaurant and bar Contemporary Melting Pot & Bar (CM-PB), which is the current tenant of the building at 7 Dempsey Road, according to the website.
